College hockey's greatest regular-season tournament opened last night at a sold-out Fleet Center (or whatever they call it now). Boston College beat Northeastern and Boston U beat my Harvard Crimson. (We lost in the opening round for the 8th consecutive year. :( :bawling: ) Finals and consolation game will be next Monday.

There was something about the Beanpot in the old Boston Garden. I can still remember the crowd noise, the peeling paint and the smell: a pungent mix of stale beer and old p*ss.

I can imagine the ambience is not the same--however, you have to admit that having a "beanpot' tournament in the 'Fleet" center seems apropos!! :D
