NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee State senior running back Preston Brown will have knee surgery next week to repair a torn ligament and likely will miss the rest of the season.
He was averaging 152 yards per game, third among in the Football Championship Subdivision and tops in the Ohio Valley Conference.
Brown, a Nashville native, injured his knee making a cut at midfield in Tennessee State's 37-7 win over North Carolina A&T at the Circle City Classic in Indianapolis on Saturday. He hobbled off the field but returned for one more play, rushing for 43 yards before leaving for good.
