Ron Rogerson, who coached the Black Bears from 1981-84 and led them to the 1983 Yankee Conference title, will be honored this coming weekend as part of Football Alumni Weekend, as Maine hosts the University of New Hampshire on Saturday at 6 p.m.
Coach Rogerson left Maine for the head coaching position at Princeton prior to 1985 and coached the Tigers for two years, before dying tragically in August, 1987 at the age of 44. Alumni of Coach Rogerson’s time in Orono have organized a series of events to reconnect with his family and recognize his impact.
