Is where my kid is about to attend highschool in Northwest Houston.
Unbelievable...
The structure with the steps is the 8,300 seat mulipurpose arena, and the structure to the right in the 1st picture is the new 11,000 seat two tier stadium with two 3 story pressboxes with club seating.

That is pretty amazing
Here in Iowa, West Des Moines Valley has quite the facilities

They have won the state football title 3 times in the past four years.
Also their music department has won a Grammy Award.

And, correct me if I'm wrong, but Drake University, a non-scholarship D-1AA school played their home games there while their own stadium was under construction.

Is that Cy Falls? I seem to remember seeing some pictures for that awhile back. Just wondering.

Cy-FAIR, short for Cypress-Fairbanks ISD.
Three Schools located in that school district will share those facilities, which is slated for opening in March.
My property tax is going to be pretty high to help pay for that thing.

Its the new stadium being built at Barker Cypress and West Rd. Very nice and very large. Speak volumes about high school football in Texas.
The old stadium, Pridgeon Stadium, off of Bobcat Rd and FM 1960 is nice but there are too many schools in the district (Cy-Fair) for the one stadium to handle.
I graduated from Cy-Fair High McTaigator, where did your kid graduate from?

i might be wrong but from the knowledge ive gathered it seems that most high school teams in texas share a large regional facility with other schools in there area? Is this correct?

It's correct to a point. Most of the big cities (Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, etc. ) do this. Nothing below 5A usually.

My daughter WAS going to be going to Langam Creek up until this morning when I was asked to relocated to Chicago instead of Houston as planed (and hoped). We were looking to buy a home in Copperfield right off Barker-Cypress. Those facilities would have been where my daughters school would have played. She will be a Freshman next year.
I have a Son that is a Sr. at Conroe High this year, he lives with his Mother (Yoy probably saw her in the Wizard of Oz, she is the Wicked Witch of the West).
My Son in Law also graduated from Conroe in 2001.

That sucks McTailGator, I would love to have met you. I would also be able to put your kids to work this summer, that would help me out ALOT! (the more the merrier)
Let me know if things change, I have a lot of facilities in that area.

It depends on the school district. Klein Independent School District (where my kids attend school) has 4 high schools sharing a stadium that needs some serious expansion and renovation. Meanwhile, Magnolia ISD is building a second high school(Magnolia West), but they are also building a stadium on that campus, giving each school it's own stadium. Most high schools in Texas have their own stadium, and it is a matter of pride with just about all of them!

The Cy-Fair school district has 7 high schools, working on an eigth. Right now they are all sharing the old stadium. The second one will help out a lot with scheduling.

Does Pridgeon Stadium sometimes host three games on Saturdays? I remember the original field behind Cy-Fair HS, the track would become a moat during rainy weather!

Click Here for Denton ISD's new CH Collins Complex. Very impressive. (http://www.vlkarchitects.com/Project.aspx?ID=50&ImageID=554)
Here's an image of the latest Dallas ISD addition.

Dallas ISD's newest facility/complex that opened last fall. Very impressive.
Plano ISD and several more new local ISD's stadiums are slated to be completed before next year. All of the facilities are super-duper nice and they are sort of looking alike too. lol I knew about Cypress' new athletic complex and of course, Conroe is about to build somewhere around or near the Woodlands area off 45. ;)
I won't go into detail about the SoutlLake Carroll's, Grapevines, etc. Too many to list and probably too unbelievable (like 2 50 yrd INDOOR practice facilities on the same campus  ). Ditto for the Allen/McKinney ISDs (indoor practice facilities  ). Chaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa-ching!!!!!!
BTW, the true hs football power resides in North Texas. lol

Small world. My good friend lives off of Barker-Cypress. :) And of course, my Conroe High ties are there as well. Seems like your son will graduate w/ a fellow 2nd cousin. :) Conroe High has changed w/ the over-populous of newer schools (Oak Ridge, Cy-Ridge, Woodlands High, ...).

They spread the varsity games out. Some are now on Saturdays. It will be a big relief for the district.
I played on the Cy-Fair field many times. It is still used by the freshman and jr. varsity teams.

Mostly the 5A programs share regional facilities if there are multiple high schools in the district. Take Cy-Fair for example, the area is growing so fast that there are is not the space. There are 8 high schools in the district and I think there is a 9th one being built right now. Cy-Fair School District has quickly become one of the larger districts in Houston area. And yes, the property taxes are out of control. But, go look at all the new high schools they are building and you will see where the money is going. That new facility is gonna be a nice one.
I went to Katy High School in West Houston and I look for them to be doing something about a new stadium soon. That is another area growing like crazy and adding high schools and they have one stadium to play in, Rhodes Stadium. They have 5 high schools right now with a 6th being built as we speak.
Of course, both of these areas are in the suburbs of Houston.
