The Eastern Washington Eagles rolled out the red carpet treatment for their first game on the new synthetic playing surface with the same color. In a game that had all the ceremonies of the new all red Sprinturf at the newly named Roos Field, named after former Eagle and current NFL Tennessee Titan offensive lineman Michael Roos and his wife, Katherine, gave a half-million dollars for the new surface.
EWU and the new turf hosted their Big Sky bugaboo in the Montana Grizzlies last Saturday night. Coming into the game, EWU had won four previous times in Missoula but just twice in the state of Washington. The 36-27 victory Saturday was the first in Cheney for EWU since 1991 and first overall against the Grizzlies since 2005. ...
