Darrius Gates, 23, is a senior running back for the Indiana State Sycamores. He is entering his fifth year with the team and has lt;br />come a long way from when he started playing for the school. He has weathered many games, and gone through his share of lt;br />overcoming adversity. In 2006, he endured a knee injury that ended his season. This changed his outlook on the game, taking lt;br />him through a test of perseverance. It forced him to look at the game through new eyes and find ways to overcome his new lt;br />obstacle, and with this experience, he can give new players the motivation to work through any struggle that arises.
