SFA QB sets new SLC standard, approaches another record

Sept. 20, 2010

FRISCO, Texas - Senior quarterback Jeremy Moses has been named Southland Conference Offensive Player of the Week following his performance at Northern Iowa Saturday. Moses guided the Lumberjacks to a 22-20 victory over No. 13 Northern Iowa Saturday in Cedar Falls to improve to 2-1 (.667) on the season.

Moses completed 37 passes for 356 yards and one touchdown as SFA won its fourth game over an FCS top 25 school in its last five tries. The 37 completions tied for the fourth-best mark in school history.

Early in the contest Moses set a new Southland Conference standard becoming the first league player to complete 900 passes in a career. He also became only the second conference quarterback to surpass the 10,000-yard passing mark in a career.

Moses needs only nine more touchdown passes, 316 yards passing and 1,001 yards of total offense to set a new league records in each of those categories. He needs only seven more yards of total offense to reach 10,000 yards for his career.

The Lumberjacks return to action Saturday to take on Lamar. The game against the Cardinals is slated to begin at 6 p.m. from Homer Bryce Stadium. Tickets are available through the SFA Ticket Office, (936) 468-JACK.
