SFA - 18 first downs, on 54 plays in 19:24, 281 total yards, 231 passing on 25-34 from Moses with 1 TD. 30 yards rushing on 18 carries. Only 3 penalties (2 PFs).

UNI 10 first downs on only 28 plays in 10:36 for 272 total yards, 146 yards passing on 6-11 from Rennie with 1 TD. Panthers have 126 yards rushing on only 14 carries (9 carries for 116 yards for Rennie 1 TD, 1 Fumble, Anderson 5 rushes for 11).

UNI is killing themselves again this game with stupid penalties- 8 total, 4 PFs, and a fumble at the 2 yard line after a 39 yard run by Rennie as he was going to the endzone. 7 points off the board and gave up a safety after a PF pushed em back near the goal line...9 points there. Leaving a min. of 27 points on the field in 6 quarters is not good. Rennie has been otherwise spectacular in his Purple debuts.

Panthers have been very efficient offensively, but as usual, their secondary is hurting them, along with the penalties.

SFA gets the ball to start the 2nd half...Farley is chewing em out in the lockeroom for sure. Be ready for a defensive 2nd half for the Panthers.

Not saying anything other than "great game SFA" ... amazing win, huge win in every aspect ... hopefully that's enough to tell the world that the Lumberjacks are for real. UNI is an awesome team and they will make noise in the playoffs, but tonight it was SFA that had the edge ... now time to keep it rolling next week against Lamar.

Good win tonight but I'm sure you have seen by now that Lamar took down SLU. The Lamar QB is going to give SFA all they want so they better be ready

Looking at the stats I'd say it was a matter of UNI turning the ball over three times while SFA didn't turn the ball over. But it is still an unexpected and impressive win by SFA. Going in I would've thought UNI would win even if they were on the short end of a -3 giveaway/takeaway stat. I didn't think there was any way SFA could beat UNI at UNI and they did it.

Well played by SFA with the exception of one penalty for a brutal face mask.

Now the negatives:
For the last two games the referrees have been horrible, either the rule book has changed dramatically since last season or we've been hiring the refs from some Junior High 800 miles away.

As for UNI their offensive scheme stinks, it has for the past 2 years. Gone are the days of being able to pass. Farley has been watching too much college football form Texas and wants an option offensive with a running QB. Sorry coach we don't have it! We have become turnover prone with difficulty in moving the ball in key situations. The transfer student at QB has quick feet, but is a runner first. He can barely see his first receiver and has happy feet with no ability to hold onto the ball when running. He also eats the ball on a sack way too much and hasn't learned the basics of throwing it away. SFA on the other hand had a well run offense, my group was very impressed by how quickly the QB got rid of the ball for SFA.

UNI has several offensive weapons of which the have only used a few. Carlos Anderson is a very good running back and had another good game. I hope he is OK after that last hit. Davis the back QB can throw and move the team. I was also impressed by #5 for receiving he's small, but can adjust and catch well. The defense is fairly solid, but it's going to take more than D to win. If Farely is relying on the defense to score points it's going to be a long season.

Best advice - DROP THE RUNNING QB idea -- IT DOESN"T WORK FOR US! Put the transfer student in as a running back with Carlos and have a play where he can throw. Stop trying to imitate some other school and go back to football basics.

Disheartened Panther Fan.

A. Hold on to the flipping ball!!!

B. I want Davis to be our qb...ronnie is a play maker but if he gets pressured he goes down for a loss, davis finds a receiver and makes something out of nothing. Also, Farley is a better coach when we have a passing qb (Sanders? Remember those days?)

C. D is solid, would just like to see some quicker adjustments...

D. Davis, Ordt, Herring and Anderson are real good. Let's use them and someone tell them all to hold onto the ball in the redzone!

Congrats SFA
