General consensus believes this was a mis-vote and that the individual meant to vote for Jacksonville State, who ranks fourth in the TSN poll and had nine first place votes. If you get rid of the Jackson State first-place vote, they only had 23 votes "points".

Either way - the vote stands - so when was the last time a SWAC team received a first-place vote in the TSN Poll? Did Grambling get a first-place vote or few when Bruce Eugene was headlining the team?

Craig Haley sure runs a pretty loose boat over at TSN. He's putting out awful playoff prognostications that are nearly improbable due to rules and schedules. And now he's not checking into first-place votes that raise eyebrows?

Others receiving votes: Prairie View A&M 281, Penn 235, Central Arkansas 177, Wofford 158, Gardner-Webb 156, Northern Arizona 140, Eastern Illinois 89, Chattanooga 76, Harvard 59, Jackson State (1) 58, Florida A&M 50, Colgate 38, Georgia Southern 34, Illinois State 33, Southeastern Louisiana 23, Western Illinois 22, Holy Cross 19, Southern Utah 19, Missouri State 17, Delaware State 16, Hampton 16, Youngstown State 14, Alabama State 13, Howard 9, Norfolk State 8, Brown 8, Jacksonville 8, Northern Colorado 6, Georgetown 6, Samford 5, North Dakota 5, Morehead State 5, Texas State 4, UC Davis 3, Morgan State 2, Austin Peay 1, Dayton 1, Eastern Kentucky 1, Maine 1, Old Dominion 1.

We only know of one error, but some of those other points could have been mistaken #2 or #3 votes. Someone get the Palm Beach Courthouse on the line!!

TSN in the past used a similar set-up to CSN with the drop down menu of the schools. We've had a few issues with that I'm sure on AGS, because people have said in the past they got mixed up on the USD/UND and NDSU/SDSU situation. I can see people getting mixed up on Jax State, Jacksonville and Jackson State too!

Fortunately it wouldn't have really affected the standings.

While you are at it, GSU & GSU do the same. No wait, the real GSU can keep their GSU.xlolxxnodxxlolxxbowx

I know how to solve this acronym debate; whichever school was established first gets to keep their initials. xrulesx

I said established first not when they offered more than a bachelors and got masters and doctoral programs.

Yeah in Natchez! They can call themselves Natchez State all day long if they want. By your logic, Harvard could call itself JSU since it was founded in 1600s...
Nice try, LOL

According to wikipedia, Jackson State took the name Jackson College a year before the founding of Jacksonville College/State University.

Just sayin'.

And jacksonville state college took the name jacksonville state university 8 years before jackson state college took Jackson state university. They can have JSC and we will keep JSU.
