The Mountain Hawks 'fly' to Cambridge for a 10:30 a.m. match with The Crimson and then bus down to meet the Bruins of Brown at 3 p.m. A tough day in New England, though Lehigh should win both. Currently ranked #14 as a dual team, and #8 as a tournament team, it is not known as yet whether #3 Letters or #18 Santos are ready to return to the lineup. Will be much closer without them. Harvard's looking to make a statement that they are 'back' as a force in the EIWA. There's been some slippage over the past couple years from their Championship of 2001.

Reported in the Morning Call this morning that both #3 Letters (165) and #18 Santos (133) will not wrestle this weekend. Still rehabing, although Letters was reported to be doing some 'mat work' this week he is still being held out of any 'contact' workouts; revcovering from torn ligament in neck along spinal column. Santos may be out for two more weeks, though reported that he is muched in improved and now working on stationary bike as part of quad tear rehab.

I'm sorry but I just don't get wrestling.

AS much as my first love has always been football, collegiate or olympic style wrestling is the purest of athletic endeavors. Tremendous conditioning required, together with discipline and mental toughness needed to succeed. There's no one else to blame. It's you and your opponent, sink or swim. No whiners. Faced with an obstacle? Deal with it. There is also the added 'team' aspect where obvious sacrifices and efforts are made so as to give the team a shot at winning. The scoring system can be confusing if you haven't grown up in the sport or followed for a while, but it doesn't take long to get acclimated.

What he said

I always (rightly or wrongly) have a lot more respect for a person when they tell me they were a wrestler, the sport builds strong character IMO

BTW, NDSU swept Air Force and Wyoming this weekend on the mat :hurray:

The Mountain Hawks gave an impressive showing against Harvard at a 10:30 a.m. match, 29-6. They then bused down to Providence, R.I. and shutout the Brown Bears, 40-0 in a 3 p.m. match. Overall record now 10-5 heading into the final month. Next Saturday, Lehigh hosts a Triple Dual at Grace Hall.
At 11 a.m. Maryland will wrestle Hofstra.
At 1 p.m. Lehigh will wrestle Maryland and at 3 p.m Lehigh will wrestle Hofstra. Many hoping Letters will be back by then.
