I was pleasantly surprised about Vanderbilt wanting to play us again after what happened at the Bridgestone Arena last season. One of two SEC victories for the Toppers (the other one was against Mississippi State in Diddle.) :) I also didn't think he would pull the Memphis game either. That was exciting to see, it will definitely be a test to see where we are. The South Carolina game will be the first time for former head coach and WKU alum Darrin Horn will be in Diddle Arena. I hoping this time that it will be more competitive. No one can fault the Toppers for upgrading their schedule from last season. The Murray State game will also be interesting, since WKU beat them last season. :D This is by the far the most exciting schedule for Western Kentucky in a very long time. Coach McDonald is going for broke this season and we have a more experience front court despite the loss of Jeremy Evans to the Utah Jazz. WKU also have a transfer from Oklahoma that is eligible to play this season. He would have been great for us when Kerusch went down, but rules are rules. Losing Slaughter will be big, but WKU is more than capable of reloading at the guard spot. WKU is projected to win the East Division this season as long as Sergio Kerusch doesn't get injured mid way through the season WKU will be right in the thick of the race again.
