What are the real benefits for a 12 team conference in FCS?
What if the CAA and, in the future, Big Sky broke up and became 4 separate conferences with six or more members, each?
Expand the playoffs to 24 teams with 12 AO's, with the two additional AQ's going to the conferences that split off from CAA and BSC.
This assumes all schools stay in FCS and the Big Sky remains intact for all other sports.
Big Sky:
Montana
MSU
Eastern Washington.
Portland St.
Idaho St.
Northern Colorado
Big Sky 2:
Cal Poly
Davis
Sac. St.
Southern Utah
Northern Arizona
Weber St.
