Shaun Alexander "Sleepless" in Seattle?

I'm not sure that this rumor has much merit, but it's at least worth speculating about.

The rumor goes that Shaun Alexander and Ken Lucas (traded from Seattle to Carolina before this season) are best friends. Apparently, Shaun likes the Carolina Panthers and has family close to Greensboro. Alexander apparently has alluded to the fact that he is not going back to the Seahawks, mainly because they treated him like Ken Lucas (waiting too long to commit to him).

I personally don't think that Seattle would be dumb enough to let Shaun Alexander just walk out, but I have seen stranger things happen. Any thoughts?

I doubt that the Seahawks let the MVP, rushing champion, and record holder for most TDs in a season go after this season. If they do they deserve to sink into 10 more years of mediocricy.

I see a new contract with a lot more zeroes behind it for Mr. Alexander, but the Steelers win the Super Bowl in my opinion. GO CATAMOUNTS!!!
