Good to see NAU climbing up the "others receiving votes" 64 this week - 1 last.

The win over Montana probably helped that a little, especially with as high as Montana has been in this poll.

UC Irvine is an interesting case. They are doing great in Big West play, yet they have losses to UC Davis, CSU Stanislaus, and Arkansas-Monticello.

I don't understand how Bucknell is ahead of UNI. My reasoning is that they both have 3 losses, but UNI has far better wins (Iowa, LSU, SIU, Dayton, Wichita State, and Missouri State). Whereas Bucknell has no big marquee wins. UNI also has 4 more wins. As far as I am concerned UNI is without doubt the superior team at the moment.

UNI's 2 big wins - Iowa and LSU - are clearly better than Bucknell's - Syracuse and DePaul.
I'm sure that Bucknell knocking Kansas off last year is counting towards this year's ranking though. While normally I would say that's unfair, the fact is, its the exact same players on this year's team, so its at least a little more fair than when a team graduates its best players and doesn't replace them.

Troy beat Western Kentucky by 25 or 30 other night and they are ranked?
It's a fight between us and Troy for the worst team in Alabama.

Thought the ol' Mountain Hawks might be getting a few "other" votes now at 12-8 and having beaten Harvard by 11. Wednesday night will tell all...

What it comes down to, is the the MVC is far harder than the Pioneer League. I'm not trying to diminsh the League, but it is true. And both teams have basically the same record, therefore UNI should have the edge. Syracuse is a great win, but I classify Southern Illinois, LSU, Dayton, Wichita State, and Missouri State better wins than DePaul. Either way, both teams are finally getting some national respect, which they both fully deserve.

I don't follow most of those teams but the sad thing is YSU had a 16 point lead at Akron and blew it; o ya it was in the 2nd half.
YSU beat Butler; and we all know their great history; by 2 on Saturday and gotta big one vs. UW-Milwaukee Thursday.... But no we aren't good enough to be in this::: 6-11 (3-4 in Horizon)
