This kid must have really wowed Coach Broadway...he's not prone to much praise and definitely not to a true freshman. I can't wait to see this kid play!
He's just made plays," Grambling head coach Rod Broadway said Monday.
Carrothers threw for 4,028 yards and 36 touchdowns for Independence High (Charlotte, N.C.) last year. He finished high school with 10,775 passing yards, second in Mecklenburg County and state history behind former University of Florida quarterback Chris Leak.
"He's going to be an outstanding college football player," said Broadway, who also plans to play more than just Carrothers against the Bulldogs on Saturday. "He understands the game; how to play the game."
