Rumor on the Kennesaw St. board says that the Big South has already extended Kennesaw St. an invitation for FB only.

Yeah the Big East isn't groveling to Kennesaw to join the conference...Maybe they will pick up Hofstra and their stellar football program...

Ok guys..yes that is all of their hopes and dreams...what I am asking about is this quote:
Finally the Big South has already extended an invitation and would welcome another Football only member (Stony Brook in NY already plays as a football only member and many other schools play as wrestling only members in the Big South so this would be nothing new).
I'm just curious has any Big South fans or insiders on here heard anything like this?

The guy that's claiming the rumor that Big South extended an invitation to Kennesaw is the same guy who says Kennesaw will be in Big East in 2 years. Need I say more?

Rumor is that football is a done deal at KSU, and a press conference this Wednesday will be a mere formality:

Doesn't surprise me. You get a chance, drive up and look at their soccer stadium. I assume that's where they'll play. Still think they'll join the Big South? Question for you, when do y'all start in the CAA?

We start in the CAA in 2012.
About Kennesaw. I never said they were or weren't going to the Big South. I was just reporting the rumor that was on their board, and wondering if any of the Big South folks on this board had heard anything. Their stadium seats 8,300 for soccer and is supposedly expandable to 22k. Also according to discussion in the linked thread the league that the pro women's team who plays at KSU's stadium maybe folding.

I'd have to guess that we would play in the Big South, but that's just a guess. I'd say there are probably two or three possibilities depending on whether we go straight to FCS (which is probably a certainty). Hopefully it won't be too difficult to get sorted.

Interesting link with information on KSU's proposed football budget. Note, this was originally published in December 2009.

I realize its a SB nation website - so its more of a blog and less of a news source - but the writer does link to legitimate articles and sources from the Kennesaw State website.
