Police Officer: "So, do you have any enemies?"

Ref: "Well, I'm sure a few hundred thousand Steelers fans aren't real happy with me."

I heard that on the radio it happened 2 hours after the game during dinner not when they were hitting the sack.

Weird thing though. 2 hours after the game his house had a rock thrown through the window while the ref and his wife were eating dinner.

He can fly from Indy to Cali, get home and eat dinner in 2 hours? WOW

Mitch Williams who gave up the Home run that won the World Series for the Toronto Blue Jays over the Philadelphia Phillies received death threats for Years.

The Wild Thing probably lost some speed off of his fastball due to overuse at the end of the season ('93) Unfortunately neither he nor the manager noticed it and he was inefffective in the post season.

The poor guy was a newlywed and his bride had a real education about the intensity of feeling regarding sports in Philly.

People take sports WAAAAYYY too serious...Some folk need to pull up.
Totally agree...this world is too full of hate already; something as meaningless (in the grand scheme of things) as sports ought not to be one more source of hatred.

People take sports WAAAAYYY too serious. My father is a Div. I-A football official. He worked a bowl game a few years ago where the score was 52-7, and the "home" team was on the receiving end of that beating. There were NO bad calls in the game, but the families of the officials had to be taken out of the stadium EARLY and under ARMED POLICE ESCORT for our own protection. The fans STILL threw beer and food at us, even though we were surrounded by police. Some folk need to pull up.

I used to take crap from parents of 10-year-olds when I was a little league ump. Who needs it?

Memo to Steelers fans: THE STEELERS WON THE GAME, despite that God-awful call!

Having done both coaching and referreeing I can honestly say that there are far more dumb mistakes made by players and coaches during the course of a game then referrees.

Just imagine if it was a close game.
