My hometown wins their opener as Georgia beats Hawaii. Some down here considered it to be a type of "championship game" as those two states have been, by far, the two best US teams for a while now.

LLWS is amazing -- those kids are great.

Consider the Georgia team too. Thought by many to be a favorite. Same little league that essentially walked through the tournament in 2006 led by the same coach. Not bad at all.

The team from Pearland (Texas) is going to be pretty good. Plenty of power. Curious about their arms. Blew a lead but still won 10-8 against Minnesota. Up 8-0 on New England now. We'll see if the coach decides to keep everyone under 35 pitches again.

watching these kids throw breaking balls makes me sick. No need to destroy a promising 12 year old arm.

Chinese Taipei has destroyed their first two opponents. In the first game they beat Saudia Arabia 18-0 and in the second game they stomped Canada 23-0.
CT only had to play 4 innings in each game because of the 10 run mercy rule.

I agree - one of the reasons I can't stand the LLWS and the hype around it - kids should only be throwing fastballs and changeups at that age - it's still amazing the number of kids that have blown arms by the time they are 16 or 17. Although, I guess they still have those "glory" years back when they were 11 or 12.
