NEW YORK---The 16-team field for the 26th edition of the Dick's Sporting Goods NIT Season Tip-Off was announced today by C.M. Newton, chair of the NIT Selection Committee.

Here's hoping that VCU surprises some people and knocks out both Winthrop and Wake Forest. VCU is the defending CBI Tournament champion (although that's not really saying much). We did lose Larry Sanders to the NBA draft (and Eric Maynor the year before), but VCU has been a CAA powerhouse for the past few years, and I expect them to have the team ready to go for another great year.

First National in-season tournament for Missouri State since 2006 when we were in the South Padre Island Invitational and upset #7 Wisconsin. We have a great schedule that will prepare us well for Valley play
