UMass product Victor Cruz had an amazing debut game with the New York Giants. His first catch came on a one-handed 64-yard TD grab from Jim Sorgi late in the third quarter. After a nice 21-yard grab showing his great hands once again, Cruz hauled in a 34-yarder from Sorgi to give the Giants a 24-16 lead in the fourth quarter. Finally he had a 5-yard TD on a slant in the fourth quarter for the final of 31-16. Cruz had 145 yards on his six catches for his hometown team in the first-ever game at the New Meadowlands Stadium.
