Marist is one hundred percent correct here. It's hardly a novel court ruling, though. These sorts of situations come up all the time in business. They're going to be looking for an amount of money to compensate Marist but that's not so hard to do. A sports economist/high profile agent can put a number on it. They can't force Brady to coach at Marist and they probably can't keep the players away from Brady, but the sure as heck can bring the hammer down on JMU for turning a blind eye to the situation.

Go Marist go! Nothing against JMU. I agree with the previous poster. Marist is absolutely right in doing this.

Under that precedent, App could sue Buzz Peterson and UNCW. We know he called App's recruits AFTER he resigned and almost recruited one of them to go to UNCW. The only problem is that both schools are in the UNC system so the liability issue would be weird.

The question would be did Buzz have a contract that prohibited him from contacting those players. I am pretty sure that that was in Brady's contract
