The Vikings are still giving it some thought, so where's the talk from other Rust Belt schools? Wright State, Detroit, Xavier, you're on the clock...

The latest update was that CSU would be taking its options to students, and they'd be voting; students' fees would be hiked at least a little to help pay for the cost of starting a team.

Somehow, this publication missed the fact that the advisory vote has already occurred. Not only the low turnout, but also the low percentage willing to support a fee increase shows the students' indifference. There will be no football at Cleveland State.

I don't know what's holding up the show at Detroit Mercy. They built the stadium...they attended the Patty Viverito non-scholarship shindig two (?) years ago. Maybe one of the columnists lurking on this board will shoot their athletic director an email. The result might be a story worth reading. xtwocentsx

Worthy of mention is that Xavier and Marquette also have club football - and Marquette has been very active in club football for, I think, thirty years.

Detroit Mercy indeed was high on the list of schools who were looking to start non-scholarship football. Matter of fact, Cleveland State and DM are the ones that showed the most interest, I think, aside from the A-Sun schools.

It would be great if the A-Sun could start their own non-scholly conference and the Pioneer grabs DM and Cleveland State. xthumbsupx

Wright State also has a club football program...as does SIU-Edwardsville.

And don't forget to check the other thread out...
