Furman looks pretty strong. Top commit so far has to be Max Lerner.

Max Lerner
5-10/190 CB/S Hoover HS Birmingham, Ala (#2 in the nation)
ranked #35 player in Alabama by Rivals
4.46 40
Furman was the only IAA school he considered.
Going by Rivals he had legit offers from Air Force, Southern Miss, Ark St, Army, Louisana Tech, MTSU, Navy and Tulsa

Adam Mims
5-8/175 WR Spain Park HS Birmingham, Ala
Ran a 4.41 at Auburn Camp and a 4.47 at UAB
Also ran a 4.01 shuttle and a 6.96 cone drill, Ike West ran a 7+
Fastest player at both camps this summer
Mims chose the Dins over MTSU, Troy, Air Force, Samford, UAB

Another commt of interest to GSU is Cody Worley, Calhoun County quarterback. This is from the Calhoun Times:

According to the 6-2, 205-pounder, he received a concrete offer from perennial Southern Conference power Georgia Southern University. Other serious overtures came from Vanderbilt and Eastern Kentucky.

“Cody only lost four games in three years as a starting quarterback (36-4 record – including state playoffs),” Lamb pointed out. “He knows the game. He’s a great kid.”

Lamb’s brother, Bobby Lamb, is the head coach at Furman.

“Bobby really likes him,” the Jackets’ headmaster said. “He’s the only quarterback they will sign. He’s the one that they really wanted.”

UD's class looks real solid so far, Daino, who picked UD over Penn St., and Drummer, who's ranked the 41st or 43rd best DE in the nation are the cream of the crop so far.

Rumors are out there that we signed a QB too, but no confirmation yet. Only one transfer so far, a TE from Pitt, I imagine one or two more transfers before '06 kicks off.

Keep an eye out for TXST. We just reloaded but you will have to ait until Feb to find out what we have in store for this season. And I'm not just talking about transfers.

Since this is the place for splitting hairs in eye-double-A world, we haven't signed anyone yet...I do agree, though, that the QB rumor has been a pretty well-guarded secret. I don't know if anyone's ever said we got a verbal from a QB though (Rob did say something about "I have a feeling we've gotten a verbal from a QB, but no proof yet" or something akin to that).

JSU is like Valdosta, Central Arkansas, etc. A D2 school that has found success by moving up and joining a crappy conference. The OVC champwould not win the D2 national championship. In contrast, SoCon teams have won an _ssload of national titles. Titles speak for themselves, the SouCon rules 1-AA football.

Some SoCon fans are starting to be as annoying as the A-10 the last couple of years.

Why post this in a thread tittled "Will Chattanooga have the #1 recruiting class again?"? It sound like it would be better placed in the smack section.

Hmm. Yeah. That makes JSU just like them. When was it again that Valdosta and Central Arkansas moved up, joined crappy conferences and found success? Oh wait ... that didn't happen.

You either didn't express yourself very clealy or don't know what you're talking about. There's plenty of criticism one could level at JSU's program, but this isn't in that category. Get your facts straight and/or learn how to state them better, and perhaps someone will take your criticism seriously.
