We all piss and moan, about this and that in our daily lives, at least I do. This story caused me to count my blessings.

I don't know if you recall the story of the BU hockey player Roy? It was an ESPN yesterday while I was on the tread mill. It nearly brought me to tears.

The kids goal is to make the BU hockey team, he makes it and his first play he goes into the boards full speed and is rendered a quadrapalegic. The first thing he says to his dad, when he makes it to him is, "Dad, I made it!" (meaning I reached my goal).

The show tells whats going on with him and his family. He graduated from BU in 4 years, is a motivational speaker and does some radio work with hockey. His numbered was retired by BU. He has established a foundation to help other people in his condition. The NCAA insurance takes care of him, including his 24/7 care.

They asked him how he makes it every day, and he says it's tough, particularly at night when the tears form puddles in his ears and he can't clean them. What an unbelievably strong kid, what a story.

I think ESPN has done something on Roy several times. Saw it yesterday and I think they had some new footage, but I've seen it before on ESPN before. Amazing story and ESPN did a great job in devoting as much time as they did to this story. We could all use the reminder every now and then about this guy's story...
