Can we get a link? Thought we had to post links for stories anyway?

As for the teams no real shock here. Bey is a good LB. I would have picked Caldwell or Heath instead though.

If you'll note, I always come back to post links WHEN they are available. As you are aware, I receive e-mail blasts from SIDs from schools and conferences and will provide information that may not yet be available on the interwebs. You typically beat me to the punch by informing the Mods and responding that I am in violation of the TOS.

In the future, when I received an e-mail prior to the link becoming available, I'll make sure to note that, "I'll make the link available as soon as it becomes available online and I have a minute to do so. I apologize for making this information available in the fastest time possible after receiving notification from the conference and/or school(s) involved. Thanks for your time and understanding that I am temporarily violating the AnyGivenSaturday Terms of Service and that I will fix this problem in the most punctual manner possible."

TT- all you gotta do is say link forthcoming...fewer words and makes the same point. SmallCollege- the mods are doing the best they can but we arent omnipresent so chill out and just send us a report and let us do our job as best we can.

I know what you mean but maybe we need to wait until there is a link before we post the information. I have gotten warnings from mods in less than 5-10 minutes from posting without a link before. Just got one in my inbox when I posted the SWAC team before I had gotten a link.

It just seems like I get warnings to my inbox or get an immediate infraction when I make that mistake but not everyone is held to the same standard. I left AGS before because I felt I was being picked on and pushed away from posting here but I came back when the new owner came. Just making sure everyone is held to the same standard. I don't mind if there is no link as I don't really care but I just wish the mods would chill out with giving me warnings instead of sending me an infraction or warning of one within 5 minutes. When I don't post a link I will do so when I get one or have time to do it. It just seems I never get the benefit of the doubt and TT is getting it.

I agree that is all he has to do. Just saying he did not say it and when I have not said it in the past you mods have given me warnings almost immediately. One of the mods especially won't chill out jumping the gun to give me a warning as soon as he sees something instead of giving me 24 hours or so to come edit my post.

Look at my guys getting a first place vote! I like "our" chances this year: top 3 (predicted) teams at home, returning a lot of starters/letterwinners from a 6-5 year, loaded at WR and RB - I predict RB/transfer Jocques Crawford will be All-OVC - and all but 3 Sophs through Seniors stayed on campus this summer...
Of course, it is Tennessee Tech, so I am probably getting over excited. But, I am so ready for the third game of 2010 (first two are at Arkansas and at TCU...then, we can get going!).

Congrats on the top 4 with the Coaches vote. Cant see us last but we have to prove other wise. No mater what the OVC must represent come playoff time and break the string of playoff losses.

I agree about Murray St. being picked last. I don't see it...I'm guessing it's purely because of having a new coach/staff and because of last year's results. I know Coach Griffin didn't get MSU "up" like he did at UTM, but it seemed like he brought in a lot of young talent. Murray gave TTU all it wanted last year, anyway. Everyone seems high on Coach Hatcher, so there's no telling what he can do - I remember watching him play in college for Valdosta St...

Oh, no! This virtually assures Jax State won't win the league. The preseason poll hasn't gotten the champ right since before the Gamecocks joined the OVC. You can see the recent history in the OVC 2010 Football Media Guide, also released today. (Link (http://www.ovcsports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=6200&ATCLID=204969456). See page 14 for the preseason poll history.) Basically, the best way to get yourself picked as the OVC champ is to win the title two consecutive years. Of course, then you'll fail to win No. 3, and someone else will start their two-year streak, eventually get picked to win No. 3 and start the cycle over again. Based on this observation, it would appear to be Eastern Illinois' turn again this year.

Trying? Didn't I succeed?

Seriously, though, my main aim was to point out how unreliable the prediction is. I hope the Gamecocks can improve the pollsters' record a little this year, though.

To me, the OVC football preseason poll is this: Put EKU, EIU and Jax St in a 'hat' and whichever one you pull out, that's the favorite. It's hard to argue with that logic, actually. This is why TTU being picked 4th excites me! The OVC (football) is the above 3-mentioned schools and then everyone else. Once a decade, a TSU or UTM pops up and competes, then falls back..."We" say this every year, but this year, I really think this will be one of the most balanced years the OVC has had in a while.

fair enough...you do the same thing...if you do not have the link with you for posting, just say "as a reminder to mods, a link is forthcoming" or something like that and you should be fine...just try not to come across as TT's personal NARC and this should settle down

Agreed. TTU looks good. EKU having 3 road games to start the season makes the road alot more interesting for the fellas.

TTU is adding a PK transfer from Oregon State for this fall...Kicker last year was about 3 of 11, so, this could be great news. Although, I've yet to find any info. to see if this transfer actually played any in the Pac-10.

Based on nothing, I'll go ahead and predict it: EIU & Jax State both make the 20-team field, and both get first-round victories. You heard it here first (and for the only time, probably).

Don't sleep on ole EKU. The D will keep the boys in a lot of games & getting Bradley healthy at RB will make the running game strong again.

I think my guys at TECH are going to throw a wrench into this whole thing. I like having "us" end the year hosting EKU and then Jacksonville St. EIU visits the plateau this year as well. I'm not ready to proclaim TTU as winning the conference in 2010, but, I expect them to get at least one win out of those three home games.
I will say that I'm nervous to see how their first two (FBS) games affect the season.
