South Dakota State has added 3 FBS transfers, which should help depth in the defensive secondary. From the Hartley's Huddle blog: http://wp.me/pY5pp-O and SDSUFans.com.
Winston Wright (CB) - Missouri
Brother of Jacks freshman WR Dom Wright. Walked-on at Missouri. Runs 4.4 and benches 300. 5'10", 185

Avery Boykin (CB) - Army

Were you guys thin in the secondary, or did it just work out that you found a few from the FBS ranks who were looking for other opportunities?

We return all 4 starters in the secondary, but the added depth never hurts... Plus, CB/Saftey-types often find a way to make an impact on special teams. Keep in mind, two of the three guys that we've added were walk-on's at their respective FBS universities, so I wouldn't expect any of them to make an immediate impact.
Avery Boykin is probably the most intriguing, as he hasn't even on a college campus yet. He simply rescinded his offer from Army and joined the Rabbits instead.

Hey, Jacked, I'm too lazy to look on the Jacks site. What's new with stadium refurbishment, anything? Cool place, been there twice, but it needed an FCS facelift.

What up, Cap'n! Long story short, plans for a major stadium renovation is in the works, but it probably won't be completed for another 10 years or so. We are currently in the infant stages of the funding process, but I have seen drawings for the proposed face-lift. It should be pretty impressive when it's finally completed.
SDSU recently completed the 30,000 square ft. Dykhouse Student Athlete Center, which is located in the north end zone. The facility houses locker rooms, weight room, coaches' offices, study table rooms, etc.

I would guess it will be done sooner then you think.

SDSU's football facilities are a bit two faced at this point.
The Dykhouse facility and the scoreboard are among the best in FCS.
The playing surface (esp. when grass won't grow anymore) and the stands (esp. visitor side) are nowhere near that in quality.
Installing fieldturf and a new concrete visitor grandstand would go a long way to making CAS a top FCS facility.
But I suspect they want to install a large pressbox/suites facility over the home side grandstand.

Pretty accurate post. The 2 end zones are covered with the new Dykhouse facility and the big video board at the other end but both stands and the press box need to be torn down and built new. I actually don't mind the natural grass field. It's a mess if it rains but to me that's what smash-mouth, midwest football is about. Let the other regions run their fast spread offenses on carpet covered cement.

That's a high school mentality, in my opinion.
SDSU is a top DI football school and the fans pay good money to watch some of the top football athletes play ball. The fans, the players and the coaches deserve a surface that allows both teams to play at their top level.

Jacks add three
The South Dakota State football team has picked up three late additions - all in the defensive backfield - for fall camp, assistant Jay Bubak said Wednesday.
Winston Wright is a 5-foot-11, 185 pounder from Lee's Summit, Mo. The older brother of incoming recruit Dom Wright, he joins the Jackrabbits as a scholarship player after making the University of Missouri squad as a walk-on in 2009. He will have four years of eligibility.
Avery Boykin is a true freshman and also will be on scholarship. He grew up in Delaware, played high school ball at Estrella Foothills in Arizona and initially committed to Army - over SDSU - in February. A two-star recruit according to Scout.com, the 5-11, 170-pounder will have five years of eligibility.
Alex Kling, 5-11 and 190, was a walk-on at Southern Methodist as a true freshman and will also be a walk-on in Brookings. He's from Belle Fourche and turned down scholarships from several non-Division I programs to try out at SMU. . . . (read more)
