Lamar Football Player to Appear in Court Today

Lamar University football player Adren Dorsey is scheduled to appear in Brazos County court for an arraignment hearing at 8:30 a.m. Thursday after an April arrest.

Police arrested Dorsey after a physical altercation with an ex-girlfriend outside the Texas A&M student recreation center April 13.

A Texas A&M University football player has been indefinitely suspended from the team after he was arrested Tuesday on a charge of assaulting his ex-girlfriend.

Adren Jamon Dorsey was released from jail Wednesday after posting $5,495 bail, but won't be returning to practice anytime soon.

"I am very disappointed that one of our players would even be involved in something of this nature," Head Coach Mike Sherman said. "Adren is suspended indefinitely pending further investigation into this matter."
