Perhaps you have heard of the Port City Classic this year : Grambling vs LaTech. Just curious about how you feel about your school's possible participation in future games. I believe we have the rights to the name for the next 5 years or so and our AD has mentioned that his preference is to play other La. Schools.
Would you be willing to see your school play in this "neutral site" game?
Of the Texas SLC schools, the two I'm most interested in (think would be a good draw) is SFA and UCA because of proximity.

NSU and Southern played their last game of the 10 yr. series in 2002 at Independence Stadium as the Port City Classic...it went great, aside from the rain ruining any kind of tailgating early in the day there were still around 23,000 in attendance from what I remember...

Have any Louisiana FCS institutions - SWAC or Southland - played games at Tad Gormley in the past?

Northwestern State played Tulane at Gormley a few years back. Southeastern was to have played Tulane there in 2005, but Katrina came and the game ended up being played at LSU's Tiger Stadium.

I would think most La SLC teams would be interested in playing Grambling in Shreveport.

When NSU played Tulane in 2003 and lost because we had 3 missed FGs within 30 yards, the game was played at Tad Gormley.

Nicholls played at Tad Gormley against Western Illinois to open up the 1999 season (not sure if it was the first home game or just first game period). I believe they called it the "Tad Gormley Cl***ic" and I'm guessing there was more than one game there before 1999 but I do know we had none afterward.

I would rather have the neutral site in New Orleans in the Super Dome.

Nope...maybe some other ame, but we're locked in to Shreveport for the next 5 years or so...hope to keep it going after that.

Others might like to go to Shreveport, but I personally don't care to go there. New Orleans is more of an appealing destination.
