Stephen F. Austin's AD came out and said that realignment is making it difficult to schedule games moving forward against FBS schools...

I think things will get a bit easier once the leagues have a better idea of how the schedules, transitions will come about. We know which schools are going where - for the most part - but we have not heard about how these schools will get where they are going.

Once that occurs, things will open up...

Signing contracts for SFA to play guarantee games in 2013 and 2014 could be tedious because of the recent explosion of realignment news, Hill said.

“The realignment talk has slowed down scheduling quite a bit,” Hill said. “But with those schools playing 12 games, they will still have a weekend open to play Football Championship Subdivision teams.”

So far UND has Idaho and Fresno St. in 2011, and San Diego State in 2012. Why doesn't the NCAA just add a game to the schedule and have a 12 game season or a 14 game season its all about money isn't it.

. . . Like many of their FCS counterparts, SDSU has made it a point to schedule non-conference games with teams from power conferences. But with both the Pac-10 and Big Ten each expanding, Sell knows those matchups might be harder to come by in the future.

"It's made it a little bit harder to get some of those deals done for years down the road," Sell said. . . . (read more)

Coming up for us on the FBS side, we have Nebraska this year and Illinois in 2011.

New big money TV contracts are going to be restrictive towards FCS games. The netwoorks shelling out for the new big money contracts want competitive games and low viewership on FCS games will cause the big name big conference schools to look to lower FBS rather than FCS.

Money games in the future might be with non BCS schools and be $250,000 not $600,000.

What is the average payout to an FCS school compared to an upper FBS and lower FBS, also is there a price difference in upper and lower FCS schools (say a Montana vs a North Dakota)?
