For those grappling fans from "The First State", I see in our morning paper that one of your vaunted HS wrestling programs is invading the Lehigh Valley tonight at Easton HS. Should be some great wrestling, although is Easton is not as strong as in previous years (currently ranked "only" #3 among Lehigh Valley HS's--Nazareth and Upper Perkiomen being ahead), they are still fomidable having finished second at the Reno, NV Tournament two weeks ago and running to a 10-1 dua record at present with recent victories over neighboring rivalries Phillipsburg, NJ and Wilson Boro.

Have spent many hours developing blisters on my butt at the CR gym. They have been doing a very good job there for years. Caesar Rodney also usually has a decent football teams. Their unis and helmets look like McNeese.

Hell of a match. CR's heavyweight brought them from behind to edge the Red Rovers 35-31. I think all 14 weights were split. Paper said one of CR's starters had just transfered to Easton, but he was held out from the match by the Easton coach thinking it not fair to the regular Easton kid (who lost) but also putting too much pressure on the new kid facing his old teammates.
Next up for Easton is Blair Academy.

ngineer I checked out the story about Alex Meade and why a Central Delaware boy (state champion last year) would show up registering at Easton High School the Friday before the Easton Duals. Meade tranferred to a Virginia school at the beginning of the school year and then attempted to transfer back to Caesar Rodney. Delaware athletic eligibility rules prohibited him from competing after this dual transfer. (Actually it appears Meade was a school choice student at CR which would have definitely ruled him out as he would have needed to apply to CR before 1-31-05 for the 9-1-05 school year). Meade would have been ineligible to wrestle for CR. It appears the family was over aggressive in attempting to promote the son.

By all accounts Meade is the real deal and will help Easton in the future. Lehigh coaches should probably be interested in this kid. I have some details I can share by PM.

Thanks for the followup. Easton has attracted a number of wrestlers from around the eastern US who have travelled here to wrestle. Three are currently now on Lehigh's roster. One ranked #3 in NCAA (Cooperman) and Ciasulli who was ranked last year and just upset #4 Tannenbaum of Michigan.
Any info you can pm me will be sent to the appropriate people for followup.
Thanks.
