Notice that no light or horn signaled the final goal in Philadelphia? It was clearly a goal from the beginning but the officials in Philly decided not to denote it.

I live 1.5 blocks from Blackhawk Park in Chicago. :)

Well, you would never hear a horn for an away team goal, but besides that I think the officals hadn't the slightest clue at first where the puck was in or out...

It was one of the weirdest sports moments that I can think of. Kane was absolutely sure it went over the line, but the crowd, players, commentators and referees just sort of stood there, completely unsure.

I was ready to jump up and down, screaming, but wanted someone to tell me for sure that it was a goal. The 30 seconds it took to confirm that the goal was good felt like 30 minutes. I've heard people refer to it as "anti-climactic," but I would consider it more just downright awkward.

When I saw Kane raise his arms as he circled behind the net I jumped up and celebrated. As someone who saw the Hawks in the old stadium and forward it was a watershed moment. Much bigger than when the blacksox won. The best sweater in the NHL is again worn by the best team!

Wow... I guess there is a first time for everything - you and I agree on this 100%!

I got a little teary-eyed when I saw Roenick crying on NBC. It still makes me sad to this day that the Savard/Chelios/Roenick 'Hawks could get to the Western finals and then fall short every time.

My voice is still shot from last night at the bar. Didn't get home until about 3am and the alarm went off at 6

The Blackhawks almost brought their good fortunes in the double no-hit bid in the Cubs/White Sox game last night since they were in attendance

So that explains all the Blackhawks jersey I saw in the crowd...I was confused at first :)

Hawks had a great season and deserved the Cup. They showed, over the long haul, that they were deeper and some better skills. Still, I'm proud of the way the Flyers battled and made it real series. Most were saying Chicago was going to sweep. Philly should have a good foundation with their new coach to have good year next year.
