He was the 160th overall pick.

Szczur, 20, is a junior at Villanova where he starred in both baseball and football. He was the MVP in the Football Championship Subdivision national championship game last fall in which the Wildcats won their first national title.

But will he leap? I would think a 5th round yields a decent check, but not the huge bucks of a top rounder. Risk of playing football this fall? Much to consider.

not so sure he's leaving. as a matter of fact, if you made me bet on it right now, i'd say he's coming back.

in his mind, he may be thinking... "i could possibly win another title with Nova (football), have a great baseball season, and get drafted even higher next year." he might want to have his cake and eat it too.

i say he's coming back and i'll change my mind when i hear otherwise.

Local Philly sports radio yesterday had it as a lean towards returning.

Yeah. My expectation was that if he went in the top 4 rounds he would leave, but after that it gets dicey. For me, I would like to see him at Goodman on 9/11/10. If we're going to pull the big upset, you want to do it with the opposition at 'full strength' with no alibis!;):D

If the Cubs drafted him, then I'm sure he's either incredibly overrated or on the juice. Stick with football kid.

Let me guess... Cardinals fan? HAHA... talk about players on "the juice."
