Dude, I feel your pain, but you gotta give it a rest. Win the games that count next year and you will be in the playoffs. It really is that simple.

For what it's worth, my sources had Youngstown State headed to App State for the first round before Lafayette pulled out its late win over Lehigh. Lehigh would have been headed to New Hampshire. Considering App State's record at Kidd Brewer Stadium (no home losses since 2002) and the fact that the Mountaineers handled two other Gateway co-champs, Southern Illinois and Northern Iowa, it would have been a short stay for the Penguins in the playoffs. Had Illinois State not collapsed in the fourth quarter against YSU, it would have certainly been in and many Gateway folks I talked to in the playoffs thought that the Redbirds had the most talent in the league.

How did this happen?

50 41.56 SF Austin SLC
52 43.33 Sam Houston St SLC

Sam Houston kicked the living ***** out of SFA and had a tougher schedule. I don't get this logic. xidiotx

JMU also kicked the living **** out of Hofstra, and they are ranked higher. Hofstra beat Delaware though, JMU did not. Our OOC was weaker than theirs, and their conference losses (UNH, Richmond and JMU) were probably better than ours (UMass, Richmond, Delaware). Their Furman definitely outweighs our CCU loss, plus we had a DII OOC W. So it looks about right in the end ;)

Yah me too, just stumbled across this redundant post that has been reworded for the past 4 weeks about 200 times. Can we just consider that Little Old Lafayette, from the 9th ranked conference went into Boone and took the Number one team in the country into the fourth tied up and had 2 costly turnovers in the last five minutes to kill the game, while the Big Bad Gateway's Gem southern Ill. got their ass handed to them by App State and needed two late TD's that didnt matter just to make the score look respectable.

YSU probably deserved to go. but you didnt, we did. Get over it, and i'm curious as to what you would be writing after App State humiliated your "1-A" level team?

Sorry Back2Back, I don't even agree with that... a D-II win, losing to No. Iowa and So. Illinois... a 7-3 team.. where is the quality win? I'd rather see Hofstra in at 7-4, or James Madison or UMass for that matter.

We beat a playoff team and a going-to-be playoff team (Lehigh). Good enough.

True. I was just trying to diffuse the situation as much as possible. Didn't need any more bitching.

Hate to admit it but UMASS was my choice for the one A-10 team that could do some real damage in the playoffs. They were solid defensively and had a good running game. They didn't get the job done in conference and had another disaster in Hamilton.

I always worried about UNH's great offense having an off day in the playoffs.
