That's surprising. I figured Beamer would just make him run some extra laps and sit out for the William and Mary game.

Also it just shows you what kind of a scumbag institution VPI is. They must have known about the suspended license thing before the bowl game and they just used to him to win their bowl game.

HALLELUJAH! HALLELUJAH!....I think you know the rest of the Chorus.
Good riddance I say, he's made Tech look terrible, and while I don't like Tech, they for once have done the right thing here.
BUT
What does this mean for his career? He has one year of eligibility left, and there's an abundance of I-AA schools out there who might take a chance on a very talented player, even if he is a prick.

He can always find employment in a winery; he's so good at stomping! :D :twocents:

Its good to see some schools still keep their values over winning.

:lmao:
Maybe Marcus Vick and Maurice Clarett can one day meet in jail and plan a winery for when they get out in over a decade.

Unfortunately not so fast my friend. While I am glad to see that Marcus Vick was finally dismissed, VT still might have some more scarring to its image to come. News out VT right now says that the VT coaching staff was told by Marcus Vick about his traffic incident before the Gator Bowl. If this was the case then VT should have acted immediately upon receiving this information and followed through on President Steger's one more strike policy by dismissing Marcus Vick before their game against Louisville in Jacksonville. There will be a press conference tomorrow on this situation and many reporters have the question to why Marcus Vick was allowed to play in the Gator Bowl.

Marcus Vick’s top 10 excuses for stomping on Dumervil’s leg:
10. I thought it was a snake
9. He kept calling me Michael
8. He said Ronald Curry was a better QB than me
7. He just wouldn’t get my last name right, it doesn’t start with a D
6. It was self defense; he and his buddies kept smacking me around all day
5. I was trying to teach him our school song and and only got to the “you put your right foot in” part
4. Who knew we’d come back in the second half?
3. Practicing for my audition for the touring production of Riverdance
2. I really want to finish up at Georgia Southern anyway
1. He wouldn’t give me his 15 year old sister’s phone number

#1 reminds me of this sign one of my fellow-UVAers had when we played Tech:
"Virginia Tech is going down like a 15 year old girl on Marcus Vick"

Most likely just the laps...Beamer didn't inform the AD or the President about the most recent tickets before the Gator Bowl

I thought Beamer had more class than that.

And what on earth would make you think that?
