UTSA AD Lynn Hickey Addresses Southland Decision

Fellow Roadrunners,

As you may have heard today, the Southland Conference Board of Directors voted to change the league’s sports sponsorship requirements. There are reasons the conference needs to have these rules in place but they create additional considerations for Roadrunner Athletics.

I think Lynn Hickey said all the right things here...

Most importantly, this remark. She can not speculate and does not want fans getting worked up because they are not getting answers. If she had a conference that was a perfect match to announce and pull out of her pocket, she would. Fact is, she doesn't (nor does TXST for that matter, before that gets brought up).


I understand that many of you want answers as quickly as possible, but it is far too early to speculate or even make a decision on what route we may take.
