Rookie wide receiver Marc Mariani knows he'll fight those perceptions in the coming months as he seeks to make the Titans roster. After all, the list of University of Montana alums that have made an impact in the NFL is a short one.
But if any of the Titans' most recent draft picks is comfortable overcoming doubters, it has to be Mariani.
It wasn't so long ago he had to prove himself at Montana, where he was a non-preferred walk-on at a Football Championship Subdivision school. He didn't earn a scholarship until after his third season, but eventually became a team captain and left as the most prolific receiver and all-purpose rusher in school history.
