I was sad to see my alma mater, Fresno State, miss out on an at-large bid. We were one of the teams the NCAA committee chairman had to be mentioning when he talked about trying to shoehorn several teams into the final two spots. We finished 38-25 after winning the WAC regular season title and losing 9-6 to fourth-seeded Hawaii in the tournament championship game. A shot on the final at-bat of the game would have made it 9-8 and put the tying run on, but it deflected off the pitcher to the shortstop, who threw the guy out at first for the last out. It's hard to miss the tournament just two years after a magical run to the national championship.

There is no Louisiana. There is a Louisiana-Lafayette and a Louisiana-Monroe. UL-L is in the tourney. I will not silently allow them to again change their name to suit themselves for the third time.

I thought Louisiana-Monroe was ULM!

I copied/pasted from one site the brackets. That is one of the few references to 'Louisiana' I have seen. I call them ULL at each chance I get and I know they were not too thrilled with their ESPN coverage during the softball super regionals as ULL and La-Lafayette (or La-Laf).

They can try as much as they want, but there are people just not buying into it.

Texas gave it to them the way they wanted - http://www.raginpagin.com/hotpage/showthread.php3?t=38996

LAME!

I like to ask UL-M folks if they are a branch campus of UL, and they have a fit when they understand what UL-L is doing.
