Let's hope he goes pro. I think most would take a real hard look at any I-AA program that would take him.

If he did end up transferring to a I-AA would he stay in Hampton Roads possibly and play for the Hampton Pirates?

No, he would transfer to the ICON of black college football and move to Grambling. :hurray:

No offense meant, but I seriously doubt that. He's used to playing on a very competitive team in a very competitive league (ACC) against very competitive teams. He can't get that in the SWAC, unless Grambling really is going independent and steps up their schedule. If he goes to a I-AA team, he'll most likely go to the A-10 since it is in essentially the same part of the country as the ACC and several A-10 teams are within driving distance of the Hampton Roads area. I also could envision him going to Hampton U because of their location. Whether for better or worse, I don't imagine him going out of the state of VA if he plays I-AA.

Last time Marcus Vick thought about transferring to a I-AA he thought about going to Georgia Southern. I do not know if he would look at them this time or even if the Eagles would want him now.

So this is a regular thing for him, huh??? Man...I hope to god he doesn't end up at JMU. I don't even want to see him at UR or Hampton. Just go pro, Vick, and please don't degrade the integrity of any our our fine I-AA programs (except UTC, of course. ;) )

To be honest I don't think it matters where he goes, heaint no Mike Vick and won't ever play in the NFL. But on the real no other 1-AA program can offer him the visibility that he will recieve at Grambling, no matter what the competition might be.

He can go to SHSU...play QB and hit his buddy, former VaTech WR Michael Malone! :)

Did not help Eugene now, did it?

What are some of the recent SWAC QBs in the last five years that have been successful? Has the SWAC had one since McNair?

Doesn't matter right now...let's not turn this into a SWAC smack. Unless, of course, he ends up in SWAC land... :p

When does Vick have to make a final decision?

Name one Southland QB's playing in the NFL in the last 5 years, that didn't tranfer there. Maybe you have not notice it, believe me Bruce Eugene aint no secrect and scout are crawling all over North Louisiana looking at Eugene and several other Tigers. If you didn't know it, let me inform you that Grambling alone is better known the entire Southland Conference.

If he transfers, I believe he will transfer to another Division I-A school and sit out a year. If he transfers to a Division I-AA school, why not a SWAC school. The level of competition in Division I-AA can't compare to Division I-A anyway so it doesn't matter that some feel the SWAC isn't as competitive as some of the other major Division I-AA conferences. Do you honestly think scouts would say, "Hey, Vick threw for 450 yards and did it against a great New Hampshire team." No. They are still going to question the level of competition whether he is going to App. State or Grambling State. He just needs a place where he can mature and stay out of trouble and a SWAC school may offer that. Believe me, the scouts already know what he can do on the field. It is off the field that is his MAJOR problem.

Maybe he SHOULD go to a religious school, to get his act in line....

Maybe he could go to Liberty. They are going to have a RB transfer from Pittsburgh there next season. After all Falwell said he expects Liberty to go I-A in ten years.

Isn't that kind of relevant - a transfer that made it to the NFL? Isn't that what we're talking about?

Josh McCown (SHSU) - Drafted in the 3rd round in 2002 by Arizona.

If Vick wants to make it big, he'd be better off going somewhere that has a history of dealing with transfer QBs and sending them on to the next level. SHSU had Josh McCown and Dustin Long (going to NFLE for the Cowboys this next year) in the last four years...

Your kidding, right? When was the last time Grambling beat McNeese St? Loss to them the year they were national black college champs...

Seems to me that Vick is mainly a low life on the field after that crap. If he by some miracle got picked up by a NFL team, the only team he could go to would be... the Oakland Raiders.

If he had more than one year of eligibility left, that's what he'd do. Since he only has one, he can't transfer to another I-A, so I-AA or the pros are his options.

Do you honestly think that any school in the Southland, is as well known as Grambling? That is the question, not who won 5 YEARS AGO. I bet you right here on AGS, that more folks knows more about Grambling and Eugene than they do about Nealy and TSTU. Eugene spent 5 years at Grambling and was in the national spotlight for all 5. When did you first hear about Nealy, in 2004 like everybody else here. Its 2005, Grambling was a top twenty team and Mcneese was not heard from this year. To be honest SHSU needs to follow Mcneese lead and play and stop talking until they do. Grambling is the ranked team here and we decide our destiny and coming to your 10,000 seat stadium is not a possibilty, so move on friend.

I agree totally. I also believe that Vick is not pro material, at least not at QB.

Heck maybe he can go to Furple and we can make fun of him just like Dingle Martin. We will still win even if you guys have Ron Mexico JR.

You said that GRAMBLING was better than anyone in the SLC. Of course more folks know about Grambling. I won't doubt that, but more folks on this board know about Nealy than Eugene because he had one helluva postseason, he didn't run the table against the also-rans in the SWAC that gave Grambling a lower GPI than that of Hampton, the true #1 HBCU this year. FYI, I knew about Nealy when he was at UH.

Grambling and other SWAC schools shy away from SHSU in MBB and FB. What do you want us to do? If we could get a game against TxSo in either sport, we would and we'd win. SHSU has played late-season OOC games before, which would meet Grambling's need. It's the SWAC that runs away. Perhaps the thrashing of MSVS by SHSU twice, SELA's demoltion of PVA&M, McNeese's roll over Grambling and the other wins by SLC over SWAC schools scares them all away. :)

Nealy had a good season and a terrible coach. Eugene had Nealy's career stats in his sophmore season.

Grambling can sit SHSU Stadium at midfield in Robinson Stadium so why would Grambling come there to play without a return game contract signed. The only Southland School to venture to Grambling has been Mcneese and maybe Nich State. I want you to understand why Swac schools refuse to play Southland schools outside of Louisiana, and that reason is you don't have any fan base, and you can't afford to play the top schools in the SWAC thats why you continue to brag about beating PV and TSU like you actually played a SWAC power or something. Call Paul Quinn, Lincoln or Langston because 1-AA schools in Texas can't afford the Big Three teams in the SWAC. Grambling's options in Texas doesn't include SHSU, why play SHSU when we can make a half million dollars playing SMU, Rice or Houston. Stop talking and start signing that contract and you may get your wish. I can assure you that Grambling would not run from the likes of SHSU, TXST and SFA, Grambling signs contracts everyyear with teams that don't even know they(SHSU)exist. Beating PV or TSU does not put SHSU in any bargaining position with Grambling and you need to get use to that fact.
