Bobby was one tough QB (so was Hamm obviously but he was also more elusive and speedy, a lot like some recent Socon QBs). Lamb ran the FU option to perfection. 99% of the time he made the right decision on keeping the ball or pitching. and there were very few plays that he didn't end up on the ground after either carrying the ball or pitching it.

I'm telling you I've seen it before.

Actually the second half wasn't bad either. GSU made up the deficit and it was kinda back and forth, just the last minute or so was a killer. I remember when we scored the touch down to go ahead near the end of the game, all my FU friends were screaming and yelling and I was quietly shaking my head saying we scored too fast. Too much time on the clock. xnonono2x

yeah I know. You have to score and expect the d to stop the other team, but there was no stopping Hamm in the second half. One of the things most people not familiar with the game is just how material Hamm was to the finish. Obviously you guys ran the TO which Furman effectively stopped in the first half. Then a QB that averaged throwing the ball four times a game during the regular season threw for 300 plus yards ( I think). Kinda went against the normal thought patterns. Stop the TO and you stop GSU. Well not that day in 1985.

Yeah he threw for exactly 400 yards this game and rushed for over 100 as well.

when a single player has over 500 yards of offense by himself, usually that team brings home the win. I did say usually.
