And another step towards FBS.

I really think the Beaumont Enterprise is exaggerating things on behalf of the university at this point.

Yes, the goal of Lamar is to go FBS. We all know this...

However, it seems every positive thing - from signing guarantee games with FBS schools to adding suites - is supposed to signify another step towards FBS.

Will adding an additional bathroom in the press box, a field turf upgrade or finally getting around in complying with ADA requirements do the same?

Most FCS schools have added suites in the last few years, if they did not have them already. Do not think this is a step towards FBS.

If you guys had a large campaign for FBS like TXST or even a study like Georgia Southern or perhaps announced a timeline to move to FBS (besides the general five-year statement), then I would say a step towards FBS.

No slam on Lamar, just the facts of the matter...

Someone posted this on the Lamar fan board - what it'll look like from the top...

An article from the Beaumont Enterprise on the stadium, the latest...

Lamar will play one road game before it makes its home debut, on Sept. 11 against Webber International, a lower-division school from Babson Park, Fla.

On that date, Lamar fans should expect to see the Cardinals' sparkling new home, complete with a large video screen and scoreboard on one end and a bank of luxury suites on the other.

The home-side bleachers will include chair-back seats between the 40-yard lines and bench seating from the 40s toward the goal lines. The hope for Lamar is that those seats are filled, every last one of them.

Fans can enter the stadium through four separate points, each along the corners of the stadium. Fans can purchase tickets at any one of 10 ticket windows, six on the home side and four on the visitors' side.
