Lehigh-Army battle today for First Place

Lehigh travelled to West Point for this weekend's back to back DHs with the Black Knights of the Hudson. Army is 7-1 in the PL with Lehigh right behind at 6-2, coming off the huge 4-0 sweep of Lafayette last weekend. Senior Greg Angelo is coming off a no-hitter he pitched last Sunday, the first in school history since 1988. Sweeps by either team, would put them in the driver's seat, though extremely hard to do in the PL with back to back DH's putting pressure on the pitching.

Lehigh's pitching did a very good job today, but so did Army's, as the Black Knights took the first two games of the weekend DHs, by 3-2 and 4-1 scores. Lehigh led in both games but couldn't hold off first place Army. Teams play two more on Sunday and heat will be on Lehigh to retighten the race. Army now 9-1 and Lehigh 6-4.

Army has placed a strangle-hold on the PL race by sweeping the Mountain Hawks on Sunday. Black Knights are now 11-1. Lehigh falls to 6-6.xsmhx
