Jacks add UND to complete 2010 schedule

BROOKINGS, S.D. — South Dakota State University and the University of North Dakota have finalized an agreement to play a home-and-home series in football, starting with the 2010 season.

The first of the two games is scheduled to be played Nov. 20, 2010, at Coughlin-Alumni Stadium in Brookings, S.D. The Jackrabbits will make a return trip to Grand Forks, N.D., on Sept. 7, 2013. . . . (read more)

South Dakota State has filled the last void in its 2010 football schedule with an old North Central Conference foe – just not the one many people were hoping for.

The Jackrabbits announced this morning that they will host the University of North Dakota on Nov. 20, their fifth home game and final contest of an 11-game regular season. . . . (read more)

Now that's a man's schedule. Seven wins with that schedule and SDSU should be in the playoffs. Props to the bunnies for scheduling up.

Too bad the USD thing didn't work out though.

Well this is interesting. NDSU schedules USD, SDSU schedules UND.
No smack, just interesting curiosity.

USD was willing to play SDSU on Nov 20 but SDSU didn't want to, presumably so they could get a Sept home game. SDSU really didn't want a November home game (they are the only FCS team in the Dakotas without a dome and November weather in the Dakotas is unpredictable) USD had an opportunity to fill the 2010 schedule with the Bison and couldn't wait forever for SDSU to realize they weren't going to get the hoped for Sept game. Eventually SDSU had to use the Nov 20 date and ended up scheduling the Sioux (can I still call them that). USD vs NDSU - who will the Rabbit cheer for & SDSU vs UND - who will the Yotes cheer for.

Like the alternating home and away games! Can't stand when teams are on the road so long you almost forget that they will come back...
