I don't think a 96 team bracket is the end of the world. I think it helps the PL champion (and the small school champions) more than it hurts it. Also, note the FCS reference!

I just hate the fact that the NIT tournament would ultimately probably be eradicated, and it's a shame considering the NIT is older than the NCAA tourney

It would also make the regular season and conference tournaments almost meaningless. Elon I heard would've been one of the last teams in this year had they used a 96 team format and, as much as I love my school and my teams, I don't think we deserved a postseason bid. Next year, maybe. This year, not so much.

And in the case of UNH, who has never had a bid to the tourney, if they were to get in now it would almost take away from it because 1/3 rd of the schools would make the tournament under the new format.

Let's just add another weekend and then everyone can be in the tournament. Let's give trophies to every member of every team so that they all can feel special.

When 13 Big East teams would get in (other 3 below .500 so not eligible for postseason) then your postseason is too big.

I hate it. Leave it to the NCAA to ruin what many consider the best event in all of (American) sports.
