Joe Pa bested his fellow septuagenarian Bobby Bowden in triple OT. Was wondering if anyone would ever make a field goal! Caps off a great year for the Lions, who came within two "Michigan seconds" of an undefeated season.

Congrats to Penn St. for a 11-1 and, at worst, a #3 finish. However, I saw two things during the game that make me still wonder if Joe Pa is still slipping and that this year might just have been an anomoly.

1) Booker for FSU burned Penn St. on a Punt return for a TD and a long TD run after a reception. The entire 1st half he had good returns on punts. However, Penn St. continued to punt the ball in his direction. That was alarming.

2) Kelly missed a 29 yard field goal late in regulation. He pushed it left. After FSU botched their posession in the 1st OT, Penn St. made absolutely no effort to move the ball closer for a FG attempt. As a result, he had to kick a 38 yard FG from roughly the same position between the hashes. I thought the result was predictable. Also, the game winning kick came on SECOND down, The ball was close to the right hash. Kelly made it, but he came very close to hooking it wide right.

Just some thoughts on the game. I'm still glad Penn St. won though.

What is the average length of a BCS game without OT... 4hrs? Unfortunately I fell asleep and missed the end of this one

it's games like that that make me glad I don't live on the East coast. I was up until 11:30 as it was....can't imagine trying to come in to work after staying up and watching that on the east side! :rotateh: :rotateh: :rotateh: :rotateh:
