A very sad story. :(

CONROE, Texas -- TCU football player Kasey Davis was shot to death early Tuesday morning, according to police.

Davis, a redshirt freshman kicker who was a walk-on with the Horned Frogs, attended high school in this suburb north of Houston.

As they continue to investigate, police cannot yet explain why a divorced father of two minor children allegedly shot TCU football player Kasey Davis to death early Tuesday in Conroe.

Davis was shot around 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the Forest Creek Apartments in Conroe as he was parking the Chevy Tahoe he borrowed from his mom. Davis suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the chest. Precinct 2 Justice of the Peace Trey Spikes pronounced him dead at Conroe Regional Medical Center at 1:52 a.m.
Jeffrey Clay Lasiter, 40, remains in jail as investigators continue to seek information in the case.

One never knows what someone is going through or what's about to happen. I try to keep my guard up all the time. Even in a TOWN (not a suburb of Houston - sheesh) like Conroe or Montgomery County period.

I could've passed by that guy 100 times as he managed @ Krogers/Randalls in the home area and never would've known that he was capable of doing something like this.

That part about being a recent divorcee and younger kids (especially if he was a truly caring father) would probably send someone over the edge. Not making an excuse, but just trying to find something about his nature that would make him "snap" like that.

There are prolly a million others like him out there but we never know it. Sad. I feel for the kid's parents/family/friends. Very sad.
