looks ok, looks like a smaller version of appy's stadium. Personally im not a fan of football fields with tracks, this isn't high school. I was stoked when JMU got rid of our track around the FB field.

More new pics, including great shots of the new full backed individual seats in the North Stands, and shots of the approach from the south, showing the collegiate gothic press box, which faces the rest of campus. One can begin to appreciate why the stadium is pretty expensive for its size.

Looks very nice with classy construction. I do think it's a shame that it won't be bigger. Feels kind of like a lost opportunity, but then maybe I'm just projecting my own preferences.

Should be interesting to see if student attendance improves a lot.

Not sure student attendance can or will go too much higher. I think for the Villanova game last year there were 1800 students there. Now Richmond only has 2800 total students, so to have 64% of the student body at a given game is pretty impressive. Would love to see those numbers every week, but not sure that is realistic.

Student seating supposedly will be on end zone bleachers in the north endzone (where the scoreboard will be) and will be capped at 1500 which is a little bit more than 1/2 of our student body.

Nice shots of the Press Box from the campus side. This part of the stadium backs right up to the Admissions Building and is adjacent to one of the dorms..

Students in the endzone? Come on, give them a better view. Besides, you want to maximize student involvement/noise and endzone seats kind of defeat that.

At least with the endzone bleachers they'll be right at the edge of the field instead of having a track and the sidelines between them and the field.

Any idea/guess which/are the visiting team's sections?

From what I have read the visitor's seating will be in Sections 117, 217, 112, and 212, with maybe a small part of section 213 as well.

I was looking forward to seeing the Hoyas in the new stadium this year (that's the new Richmond stadium not a new Georgetown stadium xbangx ) , but it seems UR and/or Georgetown had other ideas.

Needless to say, I won't be making a road trip to Sacred Heart.

Thanks.......but why not sections 116,117,216, & 217, to keep those fans "together", like at other FB venues? Your basketball ticket sellers put visitors (walk-up tik buyers) all over the Robins Center. I've witnessed that 6-7 times the past 20 years w/VMI games.

Better to disperse them. Why let them all get together and make any noise?

Yes. That's the goal. When you have to hand away 15% of the tickets to visitors, you might as well spread them out.

Understand the comparison to the Robins Center, but it really doesn't apply. The football stadium will sellout most weeks. At the Robins Center, people generally sit where they want (at least they have over the last half dozen years or so).

With a track there is room for future expansion downward by eliminating the track. Washington State did it and added 13,500 seats by lowering the field 16 feet and using the distance from the original seats to the field for new seats.

Thank you. The game is in November, and unless you give significant coin to the Duke Club, or want to contribute to the Spider Club ... you probably won't count yourself among those there to witness it.

You should try and aquire tickets for the Coastal Carolina or Towson games. xlolx

We've sold all available season tickets - 4,000

http://www.richmondspiders.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/060410aaa.html

"Richmond sold 1,737 season tickets in 2008, increased that number to 2,720 last year following the National Championship, and will boast approximately 4,000 season tickets sold for the Robins Stadium inaugural season in 2010"

It's a quality built facility, and I know the location on campus is a big plus, and I realize the surrounding neighbors and city wouldn't allow anything bigger. But I'm sorry, it still looks like a High School stadium. Let's hope the neighbors and city will relent and let UR expand Robbins in the not too distant future.

Thanks for the compliments. I suspect your place will look an awful lot like Lincoln Financial Field for a Temple game when the expansion is all said and done too!

Hell, if the dominoes fall and you move up, you could have annual series with Temple in half empty stadiums for a shot at the Chanello's Bowl!

I hate fields with track front row 50 yard line is the worst seat in the house. Anyone been to Miami? Joe Rob? 10 rows back 50 yard line is horrible! They dont have a track but made the field to support soccer.

Sadly if UNH ever does anything it will have a track I am sure.

Fitton Field Holy Cross to me is the best field in FCS... ESPN Loved it also being they televised it many times mid 80's to early 90's

I think the Barney Bulldogs are a little upset that they won't be able to turn our new stadium into "Bridgeforth East" anymore. Less purple fans = good thing.

Well UR is more worried about providing a good game atmosphere for their athletes, students and fans, than propping up the neighborhood that would not allow them to build a bigger stadium, I would think..

Anyways, here is a pic from a couple of weeks ago, the West Stands / Main Entrance is basically complete, and now they are finishing up the landscaping and repaving the road.
