They have been putting in the seating stands on the west side, and the frame of the score board. Looking at the webcam, the light stanchions are going up as well.

One side has a press box and the other side has suites?

I'm having trouble telling which side is "bigger".

So am I Mpls. I think they are pretty close in size. And yes the side with the balcony is luxury suites, and the other side is the press box. Makes it easier to add more suites to the west side if needed in the future.

Are they gonna put in new turf?? The turf that's there now looks kinda weird...

It looks good, but I have 1 reservation: The slight double decker set up seems to move the fans farther from the action. There is a tiny "1st deck" and then a larger "2nd deck" that is elevated straight up for some reason. It really is nice, just seems to be an odd choice of design.

It looks like a mini Kidd-Brewer with the track, the bricks and the turf.

There are some similarities.

I went by the site today being on campus and have to say it is starting to look really nice. I can't wait until September 18th.

My wife and I were driving through Richmond a few weeks ago on vacation and she wanted to go to UR since she applied there in high school but didn't get in.

I'd never been to the campus before, and was amazed how beautiful it was, and the football stadium looks fantastic.

Blends right in to the campus.

Kudos to UR for a great looking facility.

I like the fact that Richmond has incorporated the Purina logo on the far right tower.

I was thinking that lower part was for students who generally stand the whole game?

Thinking along the lines of some bball arenas...

I like it and I hope you fill it every game. I'd love to see the town embrace UR

Most dogs would.

The plan is to lower the field and add seating. Once parking has been resolved and the track facility has been moved to the other side of campus the field will be lowered and seating will proceed downward. The turf is "Field Turf" and is 3 years old. New playing surface would be natural grass.

Can you verify that info? I haven't heard that before (about the lowering/track removal)

Also, the playing surface will be field turf, not grass.

Yeah very few schools if any (can't think of any off the top of my head) go backwards from turf to grass.

I just realized something! I thought it looked familiar and I just remembered which other stadium it looks like. Statesboro High School's Womack Stadium:

I'm not trying to knock Richmond by saying that they have a high school stadium(Womack is one of the best high school stadiums around) but they do look similar.

Looks small. Where are the Richmond fans going to sit when ODU comes and fills the house to see another Monarch win. xlolx

Seriously, nice digs. Cannot wait to see it.
