What a way to end your career, and a GREAT move by Bellichek for letting him attempt it and same for Vinatieri who stayed on the sideline for the play!!! Those Patriots are class individuals

Wow! I have to see this on the highlights. Great story. I have never seen that done live. Only on tape or in practice. My dad was the kicker for Millersville State (PA), in addition to being a guard, back in the 1945-49 and he did it by drop kicking. He used to show me when I was young and I always thought that was cool. :cool:

True story: When I was stationed in Orlando FL, back in the early 80's, when the USFL was alive and Flutie played for the Orlando team (can't remember the name), me and some of my buddies were off to the beach one Saturday morning, when we stopped on the outskirts of Orlando at a McDonalds to get some chow. I'm standing in line behind this midget (I'm 6'2"), and after about 30 seconds I realize it's Doug Flutie!! This was not very long after "The Pass", so his face was very recognizable. I'm telling you, his height is greatly exaggerated!! If he's 5'8" I'm 5'10".

That just makes what he's accomplished in a sport of giants all that much more amazing. :nod: :nod: :nod: Even though he beat out Dave Dickenson in San Diego a few years ago for one of the QB slots, I've always liked him...but DAMN, is he short!!! :hurray: :hurray: :hurray: :hurray:
