Anybody going to watch?
I say the USA is better than most people think with several rising young NHL stars, albeit no Crosby's in the mix, but enough talent to defeat Canada again. USA Goalie needs to stay hot too.

Any die hard will be watching and most casual observers I think will be watching...I heard a projection that this could be the most watched hockey game in North American history!
If they get physical with Crosby he will be a non-factor. He is the least of the U.S. problems...they have to deal with a bunch of stars. The average Canadian team member makes around 3 million more per year then the average American member.

The key today will not be falling behind early. Any early lead for the Canadians gets the crowd behind them and will make our job exponentially more difficult. We're not the Russians, this team is physically and mentally tough, but you don't want to face Canada with the wind at their backs
If the game is tight late, we could even be tied, but the longer Canada plays without the lead, the tighter you'll see them grip their sticks. Guys like Crosby and Toews are the ones to worry about, but some of them like Thornton or even Luongo can and have struggled on big stages
The speed of our forwards and their ability to establish the forecheck will be key to generating offensive chances. I'm expecting a good game, but you'd be surprised how quickly these things can snowball if one team starts much stronger than the other. Don't fall behind, and if it comes down to a goalie competition, I love the Miller-Luongo advantage

3 min. to go..It's been very entertaining. US has missed a bunch of chances with Luongo looking shaky at times.

Epic goal by Parise with 30 secs left in the game to force overtime. And I had started to lose hope...

Great game! Tough to see Cindy score the winner, but ya know, it's nice to know that the Canadians can put these games to bed with a good feeling - they're not tooooo insufferable...

Tip of the cap to Canada...they played a hell of a game....and an even bigger tip of the cap to Team USA...they went further then anyone could have expected...and took the best team in the world to OT in the process. Simply amazing.

I'm disappointed for sure but not upset. I think someone else on Bisonville summed it up perfectly:
OK. Had to take some time to recover.
Here's the deal. Anyone who even remotely follows teh hockies will tell you that Canada's team was ridiculously loaded. Their fourth line would have been the top line on the US team. The US wasn't even supposed to medal this year, and entered the games as an afterthought behind Canada, Russia, Sweden, and some would say Slovakia.
What the US team did this afternoon was issue a big F U. They gave Canada's dream team everything they could handle and then some. They beat them straight up legit on their own turf 5-3. The gold medal game was won in overtime by one shot. Could have easily gone the other way, which would be UNIMAGINABLE in Canada.
Congrats to teh Canadians for doing what was expected of them. The US team has nothing to regret. They played their asses off and almost pulled it out.

What a great game. Best hockey game I've watched in a long time. The never-say-die USA and the resilient Canadians. Pressure was tremendous on them to win at home...It is wold be like us getting beat at basketball at home. Got me interested in hockey, again. I had lost interest after the strike/lockout a couple years ago.

Ya know, with the surge in Canadian heart attacks caused by Parise scoring at the end of regulation (and of course Crosby's game winner) and by all the poutine these hosers apparently suck down, it's no wonder that they can afford universal health care at a lower cost than here in America - no need for expensive end of life care...

Great game and tourney ending with a soft goal past Miller. Miller comes out towards Crosby, and surprising Crosby shoots right away and the puck was on the ice between the legs. If Miller stays back the game continues. Still doesn't take away from his great performance, just too bad that one got away.

That first goal against still kills me. Don't pass the puck in front of the net in your defensive zone.

What about the puck that got past Luongo but stopped short of the goal line. :(

Yes, and the Canadian's defense saved Luongo's buttocks, who was spittin' out pucks like a pitching machine shootin' baseballs.
