Stubbs is hiring guys he is familiar with and/or has worked with, which will hopefully help their offense make the transition quickly...


Before his four-year stint with ECU, Hepola spent two seasons as an assistant under Nicholls Head Coach Charlie Stubbs at the University of Tulsa as an assistant coach specializing in quarterbacks. Hepola was an integral part of the 2003 staff that guided Tulsa to an 8-4 record, a second place finish in the Western Athletic Conference, and a trip to the Humanitarian Bowl.


Uperesa played collegiate football with Head Coach Charlie Stubbs at Brigham Young University. Uperesa also played three seasons in the NFL, one with the Oakland Raiders (1978) and two with the Denver Broncos (1979-80).
